PORTAKAL GROUP began its commercial activities in 1995 by manufacturing and selling office furniture. The group’s first company, PORTAKAL AHŞAP, continues to provide production services both on a retail and project basis in the fields of office, school, hotel, hospital, café, and construction site furniture, serving more than half of Turkey’s top 100 companies as well as numerous other clients.
The group operates two fully equipped showrooms in Istanbul—one on the Anatolian side and one on the European side—each approximately 500 m² in size. Additionally, it has a 1,500 m² production facility on the Anatolian side of Istanbul and a large-scale manufacturing plant in Zonguldak, with 95,000 m² of open area and 52,000 m² of closed production space.
With the goal of achieving growth through both horizontal and vertical integration:
Another company within the group, PORTAKAL PVC, is one of the largest manufacturers of PVC edge banding in Turkey in terms of capacity and is a key player shaping the industry. The company began its activities in this field in 1998 by becoming the distributor of German Döllken PVC edge bands. In 2003, driven by the idea of “why not produce it ourselves,” it initiated its own production. Today, operating in Gebze, Istanbul, on a 15,000 m² open area and 12,000 m² closed area, with a monthly PVC raw material processing capacity of 1,300 tons, Portakal PVC meets the needs of leading furniture manufacturers both in Turkey and worldwide with its experienced team.
With more than 1,000 colors and patterns, and a strong dealer network in both domestic and international markets, the company keeps up with rapidly changing trends in the furniture industry and supports manufacturers by providing the most compatible edge banding solutions. Exporting to a total of 38 countries, PORTAKAL PVC aims to contribute to the national economy and has adopted the mission of being a reliable solution partner for both domestic and international producers.
In addition to edge band production, the group identified a gap in the transparent roofing materials market and, in 2004, launched the production and sale of PVC roofing materials under the PORVIL brand. In a short time, with its accumulated experience and extensive sales network, Porvil has become a respected and influential brand in the market. Since its establishment, the company has adhered to its core principle of high-quality production and service, continuously strengthening its position in the industry. In response to growing demand, the company has made and implemented new investment decisions.
Today, Porvil operates on a 10,000 m² open area and 7,500 m² closed area, with a production capacity of 500 tons per month. Exporting to 22 countries, it continues to contribute to the national economy by providing products and services for the construction sector with its experienced workforce.
In 2023, the group established an SPC flooring factory under the PORFLOOR brand, producing flooring widely used in high-traffic areas such as airports, schools, and hospitals. Located in the Kaynarca Organized Industrial Zone, the facility operates on 25,000 m² of open area and 20,000 m² of closed area. With the ambition of becoming a leading company in every field it operates, 80% of its production is targeted for export.
The company’s production target for 2024 is approximately 4,300,000 m² per year.
